Dungeons and Dragons and Mask Mandates

Okay, where to start?

Let’s start with the masks.

It’s pretty simple, really! We said waaaaaaaaay back that we’d be trying to keep Armour Con as safe as possible. We think that to do that in our current environment, it is imperative for all attendees to wear a mask while they are at the convention. And to be extra clear:

  • Masking up means over the mouth and nose
  • Masks can be removed in areas of the hotel that are not part of Armour Con
  • If you are seen without a mask or wearing it incorrectly, you will be asked to mask up appropriately. After a warning, Con Staff reserve the right to remove you from the space.
  • If you are removed, you will not be refunded for the cost of your badge. And a lot of people will probably see it happen; it will be very embarrassing.

If you want to be one of those people please just… don’t. We won’t put up with Rules Lawyering, and we have security on the premises. And the Knight with the sword might show up again. And yes, of course there will be masks available on the premises! We are happy to help people be responsible gamers.

Okay, that’s out of the way. Let’s Dungeon some Dragons.

What does Armour Con have for D&D? We’ll be running:

  • Dreams of the Red Wizards
  • Candlekeep Mysteries
  • Mist Hunters

What does this mean? Well, the first two are part of what is called the Adventurer’s League Forgotten Realms campaign, so characters you make at the convention (levels 1 or 5 at creation) or any characters you bring with you from a past convention that have been set in the Forgotten Realms can come here! This includes past Seasonal, Historic, and Masters campaigns.

And then we have Mist Hunters, an Alternate campaign. Characters in Mist Hunters are unique to that campaign, so if you play adventures across both at Armour Con, you’ll need at least two characters!

Furthermore, we are happy to announce the inclusion of the Mist Hunters Epic, The Grand Masquerade, on Saturday. It will be taking place in the Courtyard, with up to 36 (masked-up) players working together for a common goal. If you’ve never participated in an Epic before, it’s an incredible event to do live!

So head to our events schedule and sign up! Go crazy! Show up, be safe, and have fun!
